Car Rental Terms and Conditions

The following terms and conditions govern the use of car rental services offered through MarHire Car, in collaboration with our trusted local car rental partners in Marrakech, Morocco. By booking a vehicle through our platform, you agree to the terms outlined below, which apply to both MarHire Car Marrakech and our partner agencies.

Driver Requirements and Age Restrictions

The driver must hold a valid driver’s license appropriate for the type of vehicle being rented.

For the majority of vehicles, the minimum age requirement is 23 years. For luxury or premium vehicles, the minimum age is 27 years. Some vehicles may require the driver to have held a valid license for at least 24 months. Driver eligibility criteria may vary depending on the specific vehicle. For more details, please refer to the vehicle information on the homepage.

1. VEHICLE CONDITION

Both at the time of delivery and return, the vehicle will undergo an inspection by the renter and a representative from the rental agency. The vehicle must be returned in the same condition it was provided, except for normal wear and tear. Any damages incurred during the rental period will be the responsibility of the renter, who may be charged for the cost of repairs.

The renter is also required to maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle throughout the rental period. If the vehicle is returned excessively dirty (inside or outside), a cleaning fee will be imposed.

Vehicles will be supplied with a specific amount of fuel, which will be noted at the beginning of the rental. The renter must return the vehicle with the same fuel level, or refueling charges will apply.

2. MECHANICAL CONDITION

The renter acknowledges that the vehicle is in good working condition upon receipt. The renter is responsible for any damage caused by misuse or negligence, including issues with the engine, clutch, or the vehicle’s electronic systems.

Repairs resulting from breakdowns due to normal wear and tear (such as engine or brake problems) will be covered by the rental agency. However, the renter is responsible for monitoring the vehicle’s performance and must promptly notify the agency if any warning lights (e.g., engine, oil, or brake lights) appear on the dashboard.

3. TIRES

The vehicle is supplied with tires in good condition. The renter will be responsible for any tire damage incurred during the rental period, except for normal wear.

In the event of a puncture or tire damage, the renter must replace the tire with one of the same brand and size at their own cost.

The vehicle is equipped with a spare tire, and the renter is responsible for ensuring the spare tire is returned in good condition.

4. DOCUMENTS

The rental agency will provide all essential documents for the legal operation of the vehicle (such as vehicle registration and insurance).

All documents must be returned at the end of the rental period. Failure to return these documents may result in administrative fees and daily charges until they are returned.

If any documents are lost during the rental period, the renter will be liable for the cost of obtaining replacements.

5. PAYMENT AND DEPOSITS

Full rental payment must be made in advance, either at the time of booking or upon vehicle pickup.

No deposit is required for standard vehicles unless specified in the rental agreement. A deposit will be required for premium or high-value vehicles.

To extend the rental period, the renter must notify the agency at least 48 hours before the original rental period concludes and settle any additional fees.

Cancellations made 48 hours or more before the scheduled pickup will receive a full refund. Cancellations within 48 hours may be subject to a cancellation fee, in accordance with the agency’s policy.

6. OFFENSES AND VIOLATIONS

The renter is responsible for any traffic, parking, or other violations that occur during the rental period.

If the renter receives any fines or if the vehicle is impounded, they must promptly inform the agency.

In addition to the fines or penalties, administrative fees for handling such offenses will be charged to the renter.

7. ACCIDENTS AND DAMAGE

In the event of an accident, the renter must gather all relevant information from other parties and witnesses. The renter should avoid admitting fault or discussing liability at the scene. They must contact the rental agency immediately and, if necessary, report the incident to local authorities. A complete accident report, along with any police documentation, must be submitted within two days (within 24 hours in the case of theft).

The renter may be liable for covering excess damage costs if they are found to be at fault, in line with the vehicle’s insurance policy.

8. INSURANCE

All vehicles rented through MarHire Car Marrakech are fully insured. Coverage may include accidents, theft, and fire, with varying excess amounts depending on the vehicle category.

In the case of an at-fault accident, the renter will be responsible for paying the applicable excess, as specified in the vehicle’s insurance policy.

The following are excluded from insurance coverage:

  • Damage to the vehicle’s interior (e.g., upholstery, dashboard).

  • Theft or damage to personal belongings left inside the vehicle.

  • Theft of accessories, such as GPS devices, car keys, or radios.

  • Damage to the vehicle’s underside or damage caused by reckless or negligent driving.

Please refer to your rental agreement or contact the agency for specific insurance details.

9. USE OF VEHICLE

  • The vehicle must not be used for commercial passenger transport, carrying illegal goods, participating in races or sporting events, or towing other vehicles without prior permission.

Only the drivers listed in the rental agreement are authorized to operate the vehicle. Any damage caused by unauthorized drivers will be the renter’s responsibility, and such drivers will not be covered by insurance.

Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited and will result in the immediate termination of the rental agreement, with the renter assuming full liability for any damages.

10. ONLINE PAYMENT

All payments are securely processed through the Interbank Electronic Payment Center (CMI). By opting for online payment, you confirm that you have the necessary authorization to use your chosen payment method.

In the event of a fraudulent transaction, all agreements between you and your card issuer, as well as MarHire Car, will apply.
